Scotland Form: Mixed year
Scotland ran in nine tries in a 59-21 demolition of Portugal last week, but that was a match they were fully expected to win and this meeting with Australia will offer a clearer idea of where Gregor Townsend’s side are right now.
The Scots’ biggest test so far in the Autumn Nations Series was against world champions South Africa two weeks ago, with the Springboks triumphing 32-15 at Murrayfield.

Australia form: Improving side
After a hugely disappointing Rugby Championship campaign in which they came away with the wooden spoon after winning just one of their six games in that competition, the Wallabies have put in some better displays in their Autumn internationals.
Still very much a team in transition under Joe Schmidt, the Aussies have beaten both England and Wales recently, and they would love to make it three from three ahead of their final game of the year against Ireland next week.

Scotland vs Australia Prediction
Australia are a team steadily growing in confidence after a difficult year, and they remain unbeaten in the Autumn Nations Series heading into their third of four games.
Scotland have had a mixed 2024 themselves, but there have been some positive signs recently; a pair of dominant wins over Fiji and Portugal sandwiched a fairly competitive affair against South Africa, despite defeat.
Australia are not at the level of the Springboks right now though, so Scotland will sense that they can claim an important victory at Murrayfield in what is likely to be a tight encounter decided on small details.
