Salzburg Preview: Pep under pressure

After giving up the Austrian Bundesliga title for the first time in nearly a decade last season, Red Bull Salzburg appointed Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant coach Pep Lijnders but things have gone badly this season as they sit fifth domestically and also struggle on the continent.

They have one win, a shock victory in Rotterdam against Feyenoord, as well as four defeats in the UEFA Champions League this season, including a 5-0 hammering at the hands of German champions Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena a couple of weeks ago.

PSG Preview: Luis Enrique’s struggles

Luis Enrique has signed a new deal in charge of Paris Saint-Germain as they try and start a process of rebuilding the team and club with a younger and more dynamic, less celebrity-focused approach but the Parisiens have a long way to go to become effective.

The French champions remain unbeaten domestically but have recently shared back-to-back draws against Nantes and Auxerre as they sit outside of the top 24 in the UEFA Champions League with just one win in their opening five matches so far this season.

Salzburg vs PSG Prediction

Red Bull Salzburg were not really expected to challenge for the top 24, despite qualifying for the knockout stages within the last few years, but even with that expectation, it has still been an underperformance from the Austrians so far. They face a PSG side that have issues at the moment and this is an absolute must win for the Parisiens. They really should get that win, even if it is not convincing given their performance level.
