Said Nurmagomedov: Dagestani fighter coming off Performance of the Night

Said Nurmagomedov (18-3) picked up a bounce-back win last time out as he submitted Muin Gafurov at UFC 294. He had lost his previous bout against Jonathan Martinez as a decision went against him and that halted his four-fight winning streak. He got back to winning ways however with a Performance of the Night display that will give him confidence coming into this one but he has to shake off a degree of rust having not fought in 15 months.

Vinicius Oliveira: Brazilian riding four-fight win streak

Vinicius Oliveira (21-3) has built the majority of his 24-fight professional MMA career outside of the UFC so his record is a little inflated by low-quality opposition but he has won both of his bouts since earning his shot in the promotion. He won a contract via Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2023 and has gone on to beat Bernardo Sopai and then Ricky Simon. The Brazilian 29-year-old faces a step up in class here as he now measures himself against Nurmagomedov.

Said Nurmagomedov vs Vinicius Oliveira Prediction

We have an intriguing bout in the bantamweight division as Said Nurmagomedov takes on Vinicius Oliveira.

The pair both have exceptionally good records on paper but it is the Dagestani who has the better credentials based on who he has fought so far.

Oliveira has hit the ground running since joining the UFC but there have to be some question marks until he faces some tougher tests and this is certainly one of them.

There is every chance he rises to the test put in front of him but we have to have that fraction more faith in Said Nurmagomedov who has had far more fights in the organisation, enjoyed good success, and knows the levels.

Prediction: Said Nurmagomedov to win
