Key Stats

  • The only previous international match between these teams was Rwanda’s 1-0 victory when they met in the current World Cup qualifying campaign in June 2024.
  • Rwanda have won only two of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (D2 L7).
  • Lesotho have won only three of their previous 31 World Cup qualifying matches (D12 L16).
  • Lesotho have lost their last two World Cup qualifying matches. However, those are the only two defeats in their last ten FWCQ fixtures (W2 D6).

Rwanda vs Lesotho Prediction

In a tough group that consists of the likes of Nigeria, South Africa, Benin and Zimbabwe; both Rwanda and Lesotho will be quite content to have given themselves a chance of qualification as we head into the sixth match day of CAF’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Rwanda, though, come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to Nigeria in their most recent outing the other day with on-loan Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhem notching a brace for the Super Eagles. That leaves them sitting on seven points and three points off South Africa at the top of the group.

They take on a Lesotho side that also suffered a 2-0 loss the other day as they were beaten by South Africa in South Africa in a local derby. That defeat means Lesotho, under the management of Leslie Notsi, are left on just five points with one victory in their opening five matches of the campaign.

These are two sides that would appear evenly matched and they have combined for just six goals between them and a low-scoring affair appears almost inevitable for this one.

Rwanda vs Lesotho Tip: Under 2.5 goals
