PORTUGAL FORM: STEADY IMPROVEMENT

There is no doubting the fact that Portugal are one of the most improved rugby nations in recent years, and they come into this contest following having won their last two outings – against Fiji in last year’s World Cup group stage, and against Namibia last week.

SOUTH AFRICA VS PORTUGAL PREDICTION

This is in fact the first ever Test match between these two nations, but given Portugal’s improvement in recent times, there will surely be more to follow in the coming years.

Having said that, there is still a clear gulf in class between the two. Reigning world champions South Africa have contested plenty of tight games recently, with four of their last six matches being decided by just a single point. That is unlikely to be the case here though, as a strong South African response is expected after their defeat to Ireland last week.
