THE LOWDOWN

WALES

Wales were pushed all the way by Fiji in a pulsating clash last week but the victory was a vital one for the Welsh in the context of Pool C. They now take on a Portugal side that they should comfortably defeat but have made 13 changes from the side that held off the Fijians.

PORTUGAL

Portugal will look to play an expansive game as they aim to cause an upset. They begin their Rugby World Cup campaign with this tough matchup but will aim to capitalise on Wales’ six-day turnaround.

THE PREDICTION

Wales were given a huge scare by Fiji in their RWC opener but did enough to claim the victory. They will aim to build on that here in what is a much-changed line-up but they should still be too strong for their opponents. Portugal will try and catch their opponents out by giving the ball some air but it would be a surprise if the Welsh failed to run out comfortable victors.
