THE LOWDOWN

SOUTH AFRICA

Reigning champions South Africa began the defence of their crown with a solid win over Scotland. In a closely-fought game, the Springboks highlighted their defensive qualities by restricting their opponents to a solitary penalty goal and will aim to build on that by showing more of their attacking prowess.

ROMANIA

Romania were hammered by Ireland in their opening game of the Rugby World Cup and things do not get any easier as they take on South Africa. The Romanians shipped 82 points in that game and will be eager to avoid a similar result here.

THE PREDICTION

South Africa have named something of an experimental team as they take on with Faf de Klerk starting at fly-half. There have been 14 changes to the side that did a good job last week as they overcame a potentially difficult challenge against Scotland but despite those changes, the Springboks can highlight their quality in depth by handing Romania another hammering in this clash.
