THE LOWDOWN

SCOTLAND

Scotland were valiant in their clash with South Africa but came up short as they failed to find a way to cross the whitewash. That 18-3 loss was by no means a disgrace but they will need to respond on the back of a week off for this clash with Tonga.

TONGA

Tonga were on the end of a hammering at the hands of Ireland in their opening game of the Rugby World Cup as they conceded 59 points. That defeat was not unexpected but this is a game they will have pinpointed as having a chance to win so will want to banish the memories of that defeat as quickly as possible.

THE PREDICTION

Scotland did a solid job of competing with reigning world champions South Africa and will hope to utilise that effort as they take on Tonga. Both will fancy their chances of winning this matchup but the Scots have performed to a consistent level of the past few years and should be too good.
