THE LOWDOWN

IRELAND

Ireland made it an incredible 17 consecutive victories as they edged a brutal contest against South Africa. They laid down a marker with that win against the world champions and will top the pool with another success in this contest.

SCOTLAND

Scotland can still progress to the knockout stages but will need to claim a big win over Ireland if they are to do so. The Scots kept their hopes alive with a massive victory over Romania last time out as they scored 84 points without reply but this is a much trickier task and will be under no illusions of the size of the task ahead of them.

THE PREDICTION

Ireland once again showed the world that they are capable of beating anyone as they came out on top of an enthralling clash with reigning world champions South Africa. They showed their defensive solidity in that game and while Scotland will be no pushovers, the Irish should be able to keep their brilliant winning streak intact with yet another victory.

BETTING TIP: Ireland to win
