THE LOWDOWN

FRANCE

France maintained their perfect start to the RWC as they thrashed Namibia 96-0 in their third game of the tournament but it came at a huge cost with skipper Antoine Dupont suffering a broken cheekbone which will rule him out of this game at the very least.

ITALY

After back-to-back wins, Italy will have gone into their game with New Zealand with confidence of performing well but they were woeful as they went down to a 96-17 defeat and things do not get any easier for them as they take on hosts France.

THE PREDICTION

France will aim to make it seven successive wins as they take on Italy in their final pool match. The French will top the group with another win here and while Italy will hope to produce some kind of response after such a shambolic showing last time out, it is hard to see beyond a big victory for the hosts.
