THE LOWDOWN
AUSTRALIA
Australia have endured a torrid preparation for this tournament under new coach Eddie Jones and have it all to do to turnaround their recent form. The Wallabies have lost five games in succession while they have won just one of their last nine and the pressure is well and truly on in what could be a potentially tricky group to navigate.
GEORGIA
Georgia are ranked at #11 in the world and will have their sights set on advancing to the knockout stage of the tournament but they are in a competitive pool and will find it tough going. They have only ever won two of their games in any particular tournament with that feat occurring in 2015 and they will need to better that to finish in the top two.
THE PREDICTION
Australia have been poor under Eddie Jones with his return to the hot seat not going as planned. They will need to be on their guard here against a Georgie side that will hold no fear but in truth, they should be too good. The Georgians do not look capable of defeating any of the elite teams and that is likely to be evident here with the Wallabies able to claim a confidence-boosting victory.
