THE LOWDOWN

ARGENTINA

After a slow start to their quarter-final clash with Wales, Argentina fought back superbly to see off their opponents and book their spot in the semi-finals. The Pumas can ill-afford to produce the error-strewn first half performance that hindered them against the Welsh and will need to be almost perfect if they are to cause one of the greatest upsets in Rugby World Cup history.

NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand were excellent as they came out on top of a bruising encounter with the world’s number one ranked side, Ireland. The All Blacks prevailed in a tight affair with their defence holding on at the end to get the job done and they look a different side to the one that lost out to France in their opening match of the competition.

THE PREDICTION

New Zealand take on Argentina with both teams aiming to progress to the RWC final but the Pumas have it all to do to stop their opponents from running riot. The All Blacks were excellent in their win over Ireland and look to be building nicely. The Argentines fought back valiantly to knock Wales out in the last eight but this is a much tougher assignment and the quality of the New Zealanders is likely to blow their rivals away.

BETTING TIP: New Zealand -17
