THE PREDICTION
Portugal look to be a side on the up and up after they made it four matches won in a row with a friendly victory over Canada last weekend. They won each of their last three Rugby Europe Championship matches to finish second in the table behind champions Georgia in July and they will back themselves to perform well against a currently out-of-sorts Japan side who remain the favourites to win. The Brave Blossoms were utterly trounced at Ireland last weekend in the Autumn Nations series but they should still have plenty more than their in-form hosts. Backing the visitors to cover at least -9 feels suitably cautious considering Japan have lost all four of their matches this year.
