THE PREDICTION
Wales put in a stuttering performance last week against Fiji, going in just one point ahead at half-time against a side playing with 14 men after a red card. They eventually worked out some kinks for a far from satisfactory 38-23, with their hard-fought defeat to South Africa the week before the better performance by some way. Without a heap of experience in the squad they can be forgiven for it if they come back strongly against an Australia side desperate not to lose all three of their tests after defeats to Scotland and most recently England. The Wallabies briefly looked like turning things around in the second-half at Twickenham on Saturday and a 32-15 result does flatter their opponents somewhat.
This should be an altogether closer battle that Wales have gotten the better of in recent matches, winning each of the last two contests in 2018 and a year later at the Rugby World Cup. Taking the hosts as outright winners looks the way this tight one edges. Margins of three and four points in their last two meetings suggests giving the hosts a +2 head-start might be useful.
