THE PREDICTION
Ireland put nine tries past a disjointed Japan side for a symbolic vengeance after losing to the Brave Blossoms at the 2019 Rugby World Cup. They will be glad of the momentum as they host the All Blacks in their second test of the series but they may wish to have faced them first after New Zealand stuttered to an eventual 9-47 win away at Italy on Saturday. With some of those mistakes likely to be ironed out this weekend and with their strongest-available squad present, the All Blacks look the solid favourites to win a tough battle here.
Recent matches between the two sides have been vastly enjoyable with two wins apiece from their last four tests dating back to 2016, where Ireland won a famous day in Chicago. The All Blacks returned the favour at the Aviva Stadium a few weeks later but Ireland are the last winners of this fixture when held in Dublin with a 16-9 result back in 2018. However, a full-strength All Blacks side should be too strong for their hosts here and the visitors can cover -10 in victory.
