THE PREDICTION

New Zealand were hit hard and fast by Ireland last Saturday and never quite managed to catch up with their hosts in a wildly exciting 29-20 defeat in Dublin. The All Blacks will be desperate to leave on a high now with their opening tie against Italy unconvincing against an inferior side but head coach Ian Foster is under pressure to deliver and France will be smelling blood. The hosts got the job done last Sunday with a 41-15 victory over Georgia but they were better-tested in their first Autumn International victory against Argentina, who almost grabbed a shock win before the final whistle blew at 29-20. This is a tough one now with New Zealand’s second defeat of 2021 showing the top teams they can be got at and the Stade de France is a real hive of excitement right now in anticipation of this brilliant new side on its way to a home Rugby World Cup in 2023.

The All Blacks should win this by some margin on their best day and whilst France can push them close they are not as defensively solid as Ireland and likely to be outscored. Take New Zealand to win outright here in a fairly cautious move.
