SALFORD RED DEVILS

  • Salford Red Devils only have a limited budget to work with but that did not stop them last season as they produced some brilliant performances and made it to within 80 minutes of the Grand Final.
  • They were knocked out by eventual champions St. Helens and will hope to go one better this year with Paul Rowley able to add some quality to his squad to complement the likes of Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel Brodie Croft and Tim Lafai.

21-man squad: Brierley, Sio, Watkins, Lafai, Croft, Sneyd, Ormondroyd, Ackers, Vuniyayawa, Stone, Partington, Atkin, Dupree, Wright, Gerrard, Sidlow, Longstaff, Bourouh, Williams, Costello, Cross

THE PREDICTION

Leigh Leopards will start the campaign as one of the favourites to be relegated but they will believe they have enough quality to avoid the drop. They begin life back in Super League with a clash against a side that mightily impressed last year, upsetting the odds on many occasions thanks to their superb brand of rugby. The challenge for Salford Red Devils will be to replicate those feats once again this year but with the core of their team still intact and backed up by a smattering of new signings, Paul Rowley’s side are fancied to claim the win in this season opener.
