THE TEAM NEWS

HULL FC

  • Hull FC responded to their disappointing loss against Castleford Tigers by producing a brilliant display to see off Leeds Rhinos last week, largely thanks to the irrepressible Jake Connor with the fullback chiming in with some magical plays.
  • Connor was ably supported by his teammates who looked set to nil the Rhinos until fatigue set in on the back of a four-day turnaround and they now welcome back Jordan Lane and Manu Ma’u into their squad.

21-man squad: 1 Jake Connor, 2 Adam Swift, 4 Josh Griffin, 8 Ligi Sao, 9 Danny Houghton, 10 Tevita Satae, 11 Andre Savelio, 12 Manu Ma’u, 13 Jordan Lane, 14 Joe Lovodua, 17 Brad Fash, 19 Ben McNamara, 20 Jack Brown, 21 Jordan Johnstone, 22 Josh Bowden, 23 Connor Wynne, 25 Mitieli Vulikijapani, 28 Aidan Burrell, 31 Charlie Severs, 32 Harvey Barron, 33 Denive Balmforth

Unavailable: Scott Taylor, Luke Gale, Carlos Tuimavave, Cameron Scott, Darnell McIntosh, Josh Reynolds, Joe Cator, Kane Evans, Jamie Shaul

Questionable: Jordan Lane, Manu Ma’u

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS

  • Huddersfield Giants won a topsy-turvy game against Castleford Tigers last week as both teams were able to capitalise on their opponents being showed yellow cards but the Giants did enough to make it four wins from five this season.
  • They will aim to continue their brilliant start in this tricky clash with Hull FC but they will once again have to deal with the absence of halfback Theo Fages while Sebastine Ikahihifo has joined the treatment table.

21-man squad: 1 Will Pryce, 2 Jermaine McGillvary, 4 Ricky Leutele, 5 Ash Golding, 6 Tui Lolohea, 8 Chris Hill, 9 Danny Levi, 10 Michael Lawrence, 12 Chris McQueen, 13 Luke Yates, 14 Matty English, 15 Joe Greenwood, 17 Owen Trout, 19 Adam O’Brien, 20 Oliver Wilson, 21 Leroy Cudjoe, 22 Louis Senior, 23 Oliver Russell, 24 Oliver Roberts, 25 Innes Senior, 26 Nathan Mason

THE PREDICTION

An intriguing game will bring round six to a close with Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants both capable of prevailing in this encounter. Hull were brilliant in their win over Leeds Rhinos last week but will need to back that effort up here and as they have shown far this season, their attitude will be key. On the other hand, the Giants have been workmanlike so far and have recorded four wins from their five games to date. There is very little to split the teams here but if FC turn up, they should be able to edge this contest.
