THE TEAM NEWS

CASTLEFORD TIGERS

  • Castleford Tigers suffered their third defeat in succession to begin the new campaign which means Lee Radford is still waiting for the first win of his tenure and the Tigers’ woes could worsen as he faces his former club.
  • The Tigers have struggled to field anywhere near their strongest side this season and that is the case once again this week with former Hull FC players Liam Watts and Bureta Faraimo forced to miss out through suspension while George Griffin is injured.

HULL FC

  • Hull FC produced their best performance of the season to date by claiming their second success in three games with an impressive victory over Salford Red Devils last week with the black and whites posting 48 points in that success.
  • Jake Connor caught the eye with an incredible performance as the fullback assisted six tries while adding one for himself and with Andre Savelio back from a ban along with Kane Evans, who will make his club debut, Hull have to be confident of recording another success.

21-man squad: 1 Jake Connor, 2 Adam Swift, 4 Josh Griffin, 5 Darnell McIntosh, 6 Josh Reynolds, 8 Ligi Sao, 9 Danny Houghton, 10 Chris Satae, 11 Andre Savelio, 13 Jordan Lane, 14 Joe Lovodua, 16 Kane Evans, 17 Brad Fash, 19 Ben McNamara, 20 Jack Brown, 21 Jordan Johnstone, 22 Josh Bowden, 23 Connor Wynne, 25 Mitieli Vulikijapani, 28 Aidan Burrell, 29 Jamie Shaul

THE PREDICTION

Castleford Tigers’ miserable start to life under new head coach Lee Radford continued as they suffered a third straight loss to leave them without a win so far this season. Radford will now attempt to down former club Hull FC but the black and whites come into this with an impressive victory over Salford Red Devils to their name. Hull ran in 48 points which was largely thanks to the brilliance of Jake Connor and after his snub from the England squad that was named this week, he will have a point to prove in this one. He will be integral to the away side’s chances of making it three from four and with the Tigers failing to perform so far this campaign, Hull should be able to come away victorious.
