THE PREDICTION

Tonga made a big statement at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup and came excruciatingly close to earning a shock spot in the final but they could not find the line with the final play of the game as England edged the victory. Since then, they have defeated Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain to confirm their status as a serious nation and they have the talent to go all the way in this year’s tournament. They get their campaign underway against what will be a passionate Papua New Guinea outfit and while the Kumuls will be extremely game, they may find it tough going against the classier side. PNG boast some real talent in the outside backs but may find it hard to compete in the pack and the Tongans are expected to win this by 13+ points.
