THE TEAM NEWS
NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS
- North Queensland Cowboys have now lost three of their last four matches after they failed to see the game out in their encounter with Canterbury Bulldogs last week.
- The Cowboys looked set to claim the win but allowed a late try to level the scores before being edged in golden point but they will be boosted by the return of Scott Drinkwater and Reuben Cotter for this matchup.
Starting 13: Drinkwater, Feldt, Holmes, Hiku, Elliot, Dearden, Townsend, Dunn, Robson, Cotter, Hess, Neame, Taumalolo – Interchanges: Granville, Chester, Taunoa-Brown, Price – Reserves: Hampton, Gosiewski, Sadrugu, Finefeuiaki, Bourke
Unavailable: Luciano Leilua (Stood down), Gehamat Shibasaki (Injured), James Tamou (Injured), Murray Taulagi (Injured), Jeremiah Nanai (Suspended), James Tamou (Injured), Jordan McLean (Injured), Heilum Luki (Injured)
DOLPHINS
- The Dolphins suffered a second loss in succession as they were on the end of a one-sided loss against St. George Illawarra Dragons in round 5 and they will need to be much better here.
- The expansion side struggled in their game with the Dragons and the depth of their squad will be tested once again here with Anthony Milford missing out with a hamstring injury so Kodi Nikorima comes into the halves.
Starting 13: Tabuai-Fidow, Isaako, Aitken, B. Lee, E. Lee, Nikorima, Katoa, J. Bromwich, Marshall-King, Ese’ese, K. Bromwich, Lemuelu, Gilbert – Interchanges: Wallace, Nicholls, Stone, Donoghoe – Reserves: Faamausili, Teague, Collins, Bostock, Jennings
Unavailable: Felise Kaufusi (Suspended), Tesi Niu (Injured), Sean O’Sullivan (Injured), Anthony Milford (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
North Queensland Cowboys have made a disappointing start to the season and they will be desperate to come out on top in this Queensland derby against the Dolphins. The teams meet for the first time but the away side come into this on the back of a hugely underwhelming effort last time out against St. George Illawarra Dragons. They looked lost in that game and with the intensity that they showed in their opening three games deserting them, they look set to be outclassed by the hosts who win more than they lose on home soil.
