THE PREDICTION

New South Wales made it three Origin wins in the last four years as they reclaimed the crown last season. The Blues dominated the opening two encounters before failing to complete the clean sweep as they slipped up in game 3. They start as favourites to come out on top once again in this series but it is likely to be much tougher with Queensland under the stewardship of Billy Slater. The Maroons legend will take on his first coaching role and he has already received plaudits for his professionalism. The Maroons have named a good mix of experience and youth with plenty of match-winners in their side and with the Blues missing several key men through injury, QLD are fancied to get the better of NSW in this opener and they are worth siding with on the handicap which stands at +4.5.
