THE TEAM NEWS

MANLY SEA EAGLES

  • Manly Sea Eagles claimed a third win in succession thanks to recording a comfortable victory over Newcastle Knights last week and with confidence high for Des Hasler’s men, another win is on the cards for them as they host Gold Coast Titans.
  • There is still more to come from the Sea Eagles and they will need to avoid lapses like they suffered last week when they almost invited the Knights back into the contest but they look well-set for another win here with Tolutau Koula the only change as he comes into the side for Morgan Harper who is out because of COVID-19 protocols.

Starting 13: Garrick, Saab, Parker, Koula, Tuipulotu, Foran, Cherry-Evans, Aloiai, Croker, Taupau, Olakau’atu, Davey, J. Trbojevic – Interchanges: Walker, Lawton, Keppie, Paseka – Reserves: Bullemor, B. Trbojevic, Sipley, Taufua, De Luis, Weekes, Roumanos

Unavailable: Josh Schuster, Tom Trbojevic, Morgan Harper

GOLD COAST TITANS

  • Gold Coast Titans’ inconsistent start to the campaign continued as they were defeated by Parramatta Eels to leave them on a five-game L-W sequence to begin the season but they did at least show some spirit after a wretched start to that contest.
  • The challenge for the Titans is putting in a complete 80-minute performance, something they have struggled to achieve so far this season but they are boosted by the return of Brian Kelly with Phillip Sami reverting to the wing and Corey Thompson dropping out as a result.

Starting 13: Isaako, Sami, Kelly, Herbert, Marzhew, Brimson, Sexton, Fotuaika, Clark, Liu, D. Fifita, Fermor, Fa’asuamaleaui – Interchanges: Smith, Lisone, Jolliffe, Wallace – Reserves: Turner, Proctor, Ese’ese, McIntyre, Thompson, Boyd, S. Fifita

Unavailable: Shallin Fuller, Joseph Vuna, Treymain Spry, Jayden Campbell

THE PREDICTION

Manly Sea Eagles made it three straight wins thanks to overcoming Newcastle Knights last week and they will be confident of extending their winning streak. They appear to have put their struggles behind them and their performances continue to improve but there is still plenty more to come from this side. They will be tested in this clash with Gold Coast Titans but with the away side struggling for consistency so far this season which has seen them lose three and win just two. They have also lacked the ability to produce for the entirety of matches and that is a real problem with Manly likely to outclass them in this contest to make it three successive victories against the Gold Coast outfit.
