THE TEAM NEWS
GOLD COAST TITANS
- Gold Coast Titans were perhaps unfortunate to lose out to Parramatta Eels in their opening game of the new season with some questionable decisions from the officials playing their part it them being edged out.
- Head coach Justin Holbrook will have been happy with what he saw despite the loss and while he knows they need to make some adjustments defensively, they showed plenty with the ball and are boosted by the return of AJ Brimson after he missed out through injury last week.
Starting 13: Campbell, Sami, Kelly, Herbert, Marzhew, Brimson, Sexton, Fotuaika, Clark, Liu, Fifita, Fermor, Fa’asuamaleaui – Interchanges: Smith, Lisone, Jolliffe, Proctor – Reserves: Wallace, Boyd
Unavailable: Aaron Booth, Shallin Fuller, Joseph Vuna
NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS
- New Zealand Warriors were defeated by St. George Illawarra Dragons in their season opener last week and will need to show improvements on both sides of the ball in an effort to get off the mark for the year.
- The Warriors have been forced into making several changes this week with Shaun Johnson, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Viliami Vailea all picking up knocks but in better news for the New Zealand outfit, boom fullback Reece Walsh will make his seasonal debut after serving a ban.
Starting 13: Walsh, Pompey, Arthars, Berry, Montoya, Harris-Tavita, Taylor, Fonua-Blake, Egan, Lodge, Aitken, Katoa, Curran – Interchanges: Tevaga, Afoa, Pene, Sironen – Reserves: Nikorima, Kosi
Unavailable: Tohu Harris, Viliami Vailea, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Shaun Johnson
THE PREDICTION
Gold Coast Titans produced some impressive ball movement in their loss to Parramatta Eels last week but their ability with the ball suggests that they can pose plenty of problems for opposing teams this season. New Zealand Warriors will need to deal with what is thrown at them in this round two contest and they too come into this on the back of a defeat. The Warriors have been forced into a big reshuffle this week and it may be too much to overcome with the Titans able to get the better of them in what should be a high-scoring clash.
