THE TEAM NEWS

CRONULLA SHARKS

  • Cronulla Sharks bounced back from their disappointing loss to Canberra Raiders by running rampant against St. George Illawarra Dragons.
  • The Sharks amassed 40 points in that win, largely thanks to a superb second half in which they won 0-28 but they did suffer one blow in that game with Oregon Kaufusi ruled out of this clash having failed a HIA.

Starting 13: Kennedy, Katoa, Ramien, Talakai, Mulitalo, Moylan, Hynes, Rudolf, Brailey, Hamlin-Uele, Nikora, Wilton, Finucane – Interchanges: McInnes, Hunt, Williams, Trindall – Reserves: Tracey, Hazelton, Hiroti, Stonestreet, Hau Tapuha

Unavailable: Kade Dykes (Injured), Matt Ikuvalu (Injured), Wade Graham (Suspended), Oregon Kaufusi (Injured)

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS

  • New Zealand Warriors made it three wins from four to begin the season as they edged Canterbury Bulldogs in a closely-fought contest last week.
  • The Warriors have performed well so far this season but this will be an uphill task for them and they have been forced into a change in the halves after Te Maire Martin suffered a head knock.

Starting 13: Nicoll-Klokstad, Kosi, Vailea, Pompey, Montoya, Volkman, Johnson, Fonua-Blake, Egan, Afoa, Ford, Niukore, Harris – Interchanges: Walker, Sironen, Tevaga, Ale – Reserves: Curran, Tuaupiki, Lussick, Berry, Sifakula

Unavailable: Luke Metcalf (Injured), Valingi Kepu (Injured), Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (Injured), Mitchell Barnett (Injured), Wayde Egan (Injured), Brayden Wiliame (Injured), Te Maire Martin (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Cronulla Sharks were excellent last week as they made an immediate return to winning ways. They blitzed St. George Illawarra Dragons to run out convincing winners and will now aim to put a winning run together. New Zealand Warriors will be desperate to keep their impressive early form going having lost just once so far this season but the Sharks looked like a dangerous outfit last week and while the Warriors can stick in the contest, the hosts are expected to make it seven wins in eight matches against the Kiwi outfit.
