THE TEAM NEWS
CRONULLA SHARKS
- Cronulla Sharks suffered a first loss in four matches as they were on the end of a hiding against New Zealand Warriors last week in a result which severely hampers the Sharks’ hopes of making the top four.
- It was a very poor showing from the Sharks and head coach Craig Fitzgibbon has responded by dropping Matt Moylan and giving Braydon Trindall a go in the side at five-eighth while Connor Tracey replaces Siosifa Talakai in the centres.
Starting 13: Kennedy, Katoa, Ramien, Tracey, Mulitalo, Trindall, Hynes, Kaufusi, Brailey, Rudolf, Nikora, Colquhoun, Finucane – Interchanges: McInnes, Talakai, Williams, Hazelton – Reserves: Iro, Hiroti, Hunt, Atkinson, Hau Tapuha
Unavailable: Kade Dykes (Injured), Braden Hamlin-Uele (Injured), Wade Graham (Injured), Teig Wilton (Injured)
MANLY SEA EAGLES
- Manly Sea Eagles’ hopes of making the finals are hanging by a thread after they suffered a third loss in their last four matches with top eight rivals North Queensland Cowboys bettering them last week.
- The Sea Eagles cannot afford many more losses this season and they have made a couple of changes here as they aim to get back to winning ways with Matt Lodge set to debut for the club and he is joined by Sean Keppie on the bench while Toafofoa Sipley and Ethan Bullemor make way.
Starting 13: Garrick, Saab, Parker, Koula, Tuipulotu, Schuster, Cherry-Evans, Paseka, Croker, Aloiai, Olakau’atu, Tuilagi, J. Trbojevic – Interchanges: Matterson, Woods, Keppie, Lodge – Reserves: Bullemor, Arthur, Sipley, Tuaimalo Vaega, Chan Kum Tong
Unavailable: Ben Trbojevic (Injured), Tom Trbojevic (Injured), Karl Lawton (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Cronulla Sharks come into this on the back of a very poor effort against New Zealand Warriors last week and they have made changes to their side to remove some underperforming individuals. They will hope that produces the desired results and will fancy their chances back on home soil as they host an inconsistent Manly Sea Eagles side. The visitors have lost three of their last four and also appear to have too many players not hitting their straps with a spot in the finals slipping away from them. The Sharks have performed well on home soil recently and having also won the past three matchups between the two teams, they look set to make an immediate return to winning ways.
