THE TEAM NEWS

CRONULLA SHARKS

  • After a run of three successive losses, Cronulla Sharks earned a timely victory over South Sydney Rabbitohs to alleviate some of the pressure that had been building on them.
  • The Sharks will be focusing their efforts on trying to break into the top four once again rather than trying to retain their spot in the top eight and they are boosted here with Ronaldo Mulitalo returning on the wing.

Starting 13: Tracey, Katoa, Ramien, Talakai, Mulitalo, Trindall, Hynes, Hamlin-Uele, Brailey, Rudolf, Nikora, Graham, McInnes – Interchanges: Williams, Hunt, Colquhoun, Moylan – Reserves: Hiroti, Hau Tapuha, Atkinson, Iro, Berrell

Unavailable: Kade Dykes (Injured), Teig Wilton (Injured), Thomas Hazelton (Injured), Dale Finucane (Injured), Will Kennedy (Injured)

GOLD COAST TITANS

  • Gold Coast Titans produced a valiant effort in their game with New Zealand Warriors last week, pushing their opponents all the way despite losing Moeaki Fotuaika to an early red card.
  • The Titans have now lost five of their last six but have shown plenty of heart in recent weeks and will hope the return of skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui from a ban can lift them further.

Starting 13: Campbell, Khan-Pereira, Kelly, Schoupp, Sami, Foran, Boyd, Jolliffe, Randall, T. Fa’asuamaleaui, D. Fifita, Stimson, Clark – Interchanges: Leeming, Liu, Haas, Kini – Reserves: I. Fa’asuamaleaui, Weaver, Alick, Vuna, Francis

Unavailable: Beau Fermor (Injured), AJ Brimson (Injured), Moeaki Fotuaika (Suspended), J. Fifita (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Cronulla Sharks needed to win and were able to do just that as they got the better of South Sydney Rabbitohs last week. They could not afford to suffer a fourth successive loss with their top eight spot on the line and they will now look to climb up the ladder by going back-to-back. Gold Coast Titans have performed well of late without backing it up with the results and while they are likely to be game once again, the Sharks are the preference in this one having won the past eight matchups between the pair.
