THE TEAM NEWS
SYDNEY ROOSTERS
Starting 13: Tedesco, Tupou, Morris, Keighran, Manu, Hutchison, Walker, Waerea-Hargreaves, Verrills, Liu, Crichton, Tupouniua, Radley – Interchanges: Lam, N. Butcher, E. Butcher, Taukeiaho – Reserves: Baker, Graham-Taufa
Unavailable: Luke Keary (Injured), Lindsay Collins (Injured), Joseph Suaalii (Injured), Matt Ikuvalu (Injured), Billy Smith (Injured)
- Sydney Roosters made it three straight wins in the NRL with a comfortable victory over Newcastle Knights last week but it once again came at a cost as they suffered further injury woe.
- Matt Ikuvalu and Billy Smith both suffered long-term injuries and that means that utility Adam Keighran will line-up in the backline this week while there is also a recall for veteran Josh Morris.
PARRAMATTA EELS
Starting 13: Gutherson, Sivo, Opacic, Blake, Ferguson, D. Brown, Arthur, Campbell-Gillard, Mahoney, Paulo, Papali’i, Matterson, N. Brown – Interchanges: Cartwright, Lane, Kaufusi, Smith – Reserves: Dunster, Stone
Unavailable: Nathaniel Roache (Injured), Wiremu Greig (Injured), Mitchell Moses (Injured), Marata Niukore (Injured)
- Parramatta Eels suffered a narrow loss to Canberra Raiders last week to leave them with two defeats in their last three and their spot in the top four could come under serious threat if they fail to win this one.
- The Eels hold just a two-point advantage over their opponents in this contest so it is a pivotal affair and despite winning the last meeting between the two, that was Parramatta’s only success in their last five against the Roosters.
THE PREDICTION
Injury-hit Sydney Roosters showed their quality last week, largely on
the back of a dazzling performance from in-form fullback James Tedesco.
His presence in the side is keeping their hopes of a top four spot
alive and those chances would be significantly boosted with a win over
fourth-placed Parramatta Eels here. Only two points separate the two on
the ladder after Canberra Raiders got the better of the Eels last week
and that loss leaves with them two defeats in three. They are struggling
without Mitchell Moses in the halves and that could be problematic
against despite facing an under-strength Roosters outfit who can prevail
with the aid of a +4.5 start on the handicap.
