- South Sydney Rabbitohs put their horrendous 0-50 loss to Melbourne Storm behind them by making an immediate return to winning ways as they overcame Cronulla Sharks last week but they will have to improve further if they are to compete with Penrith Panthers.
- The Rabbits will be eager to highlight their Premiership credentials against the unbeaten league leaders and in their quest to do that, they are boosted by the return of Josh Masour and Campbell Graham but the biggest inclusion is Latrell Mitchell after serving a ban.
PENRITH PANTHERS
Starting 13: Momirovski, Staines, Crichton, Burton, To’o, Luai, Cleary, Fisher-Harris, Koroisau, Eisenhuth, Kikau, Capewell, Yeo – Interchanges: May, Sorensen, Martin, Leniu – Reserves: Kenny, Jennings
Unavailable: Dylan Edwards (Injured), Moses Leota (Injured)
- Penrith Panthers’ winning streak hit double figures as they maintained their excellent start to the season with yet another impressive success with Gold Coast Titans the latest side to succumb to them.
- The Panthers ran out 12-48 winners despite being left frustrated at only winning the second half 12-18 having played 12 men for the entirety of that period but they will not dwell on that too much as they prepare to take on a top four rival.
THE PREDICTION
South Sydney Rabbitohs look a different side with Latrell Mitchell chiming into the line from fullback and they will hope his return from a suspension can aid them in their bid to hand Penrith Panthers a first defeat of the season. The league leaders have looked unbeatable so far having performed so consistently all year with their defensive efforts particularly impressive. However, having also looked a threat with ball in hand, the Panthers should be able to exploit the frailties in the Rabbitohs’ defensive line to extend their winning streak to 11 matches.
