- North Queensland Cowboys were unable to make it four consecutive wins as their comeback effort against New Zealand Warriors fell short last week but Todd Payten will again have been impressed by some of the things his side produced.
- After a poor first half which saw them go in 24-4 down at the break, the Cowboys kept the Warriors scoreless in the second half as they scored 16 unanswered points to pull within four points but it wasn’t to be for North Queensland as they failed to find the extra score.

- It looked like it would be another long night at the office for Brisbane Broncos as they made a dreadful start against Queensland rivals Gold Coast Titans but the Broncos were able to turn the game on its head and earn what could be a defining win.
- Trailing 0-22 after just 15 minutes, the Broncos produced a brilliant response to go in level at the break and they kicked on in the second half to claim just their second victory of the campaign and there is hope they can now build on that.
THE PREDICTION
North Queensland Cowboys’ revival came to an end as they were beaten by New Zealand Warriors last week with their first half performance ultimately costing them despite a solid fightback after the break. They will have to improve as they take on Brisbane Broncos in this Queensland derby with the away side arriving on the back of a thrilling, confidence-boosting success. The Broncos fought back from a 22-point deficit after just 15 minutes with that effort possessing the potential to change their fortunes and if they can back that up, they should win again here.
