  • Manly Sea Eagles produced another woeful effort as they were hammered by St. George Illawarra Dragons last week and they sit at the foot of the ladder with a points differential of -82 just three rounds into the season.
  • Despite the 38-12 reverse, Des Hasler has named the same side from last week and he will hope for much more from his players after they managed to complete at just 66% with their average for the season standing at 68%, the lowest in the NRL.

PENRITH PANTHERS

Starting 13: Crichton, Staines, Momirovski, Burton, To’o, Luai, Cleary, Leota, Kenny, Fisher-Harris, Kikau, Capewell, Yeo – Interchanges: May, Leniu, Eisenhuth, Martin – Reserves: Sorensen, Burns, Hopgood, Salmon

Unavailable: Api Koroisau (Injured), Dylan Edwards (Injured)

  • Despite missing half of their first-choice spine as well as losing a third member during last week’s clash with premiers Melbourne Storm, Penrith Panthers dug deep to snatch a late win to make it three wins from three to begin the season.
  • The Panthers did what was needed in a repeat of last season’s Grand Final and they will be confident of building on their strong start to the campaign, especially with halfback Nathan Cleary listed to return having sat out with a head knock last week.

THE PREDICTION

Manly Sea Eagles and Penrith Panthers have made very different starts to the season and this could get messy for the hosts if they are not careful. They are 0-3 and have barely laid a glove on any of their opponents so far. Penrith on the other hand have made a superb opening to the campaign with three successive wins and last week’s win against premiers Melbourne Storm showed their battling qualities as they overcame plenty of strife before and during the game. That spells trouble for the struggling home side who look bereft of ideas on both sides of the ball and the Panthers can compound their woes by running out winners by at least 20 points here.
