- Manly Sea Eagles were grateful to Daly Cherry-Evans for coming up clutch when it mattered as his last-gasp field goal earned his side their maiden win in what has been a wretched start to the NRL season.
- Having lost their last six stretching back to last season, the Sea Eagles were able to edge New Zealand Warriors by a solitary point in a low-scoring affair and Des Hasler’s side have been handed a huge boost for this clash with the influential Tom Trbojevic returning at fullback.
GOLD COAST TITANS
Starting 13: Brimson, Sami, Kelly, Herbert, Thompson, Taylor, Fogarty, Wallace, Rein, Fa’asuamaleaui, Proctor, Fifita, Peachey – Interchanges: Fotuaika, Lisone, Jolliffe, Clark – Reserves: Fermor, Pearson
Unavailable: Anthony Don (Injured)
- Gold Coast Titans provided a great response to their loss to Canberra Raiders as they ran in 42 points to dismantle Newcastle Knights last week which made it three victories from their last four matches
- David Fifita was at his destructive best as he scored a hat-trick and the Titans will be looking for their marquee man to carry on his superb form having made more tackle breaks than any other forward in the NRL (36).
THE PREDICTION
The weight was lifted from Manly Sea Eagles last week as they earned their first win of the campaign with a narrow win over New Zealand Warriors but they face a tough ask to back that up as they host in-form Gold Coast Titans at Mudgee. The away side have won three of their last four having surpassed 40 points in an impressive display against Newcastle Knights and they will look to add a further success here. The Sea Eagles should be able to improve on the back of their pressure-relieving success, especially with Tom Trbojevic back in the side but the Titans can make it five wins in their last six games against Manly.
