- Manly Sea Eagles put their defeat to Penrith Panthers behind them as they made it four wins from their last five matches with victory over New Zealand Warriors last week which came on the back of another spectacular performance from Tom Trbojevic.
- The influential fullback’s return from injury has transformed Manly’s attack and the 38 points they scored last week was their second-highest total of the season which spells trouble for Brisbane Broncos in this contest.
BRISBANE BRONCOS
Starting 13: Isaako, Coates, Farnworth, Arthars, Oates, Milford, Gamble, Lodge, Turpin, Haas, Riki, Pangai Jnr., Flegler – Interchanges: Levi, Asiata, Bullemor, Kennedy – Reserves: Palasia, Mead, Niu, Piakura

- Brisbane Broncos were unable to make it back-to-back wins as they fell to defeat against Queensland rivals North Queensland Cowboys last week with a late Valentine Holmes field goal the only point to separate the two teams.
- The Broncos will have been buoyed by the performance but it is wins they need having managed just one in in their last six and they will now be without skipper Patrick Carrigan for the rest of this campaign after he suffered an ACL injury last week.
THE PREDICTION
These two teams are trending in opposite directions and it could be telling when the pair do battle in this one. With thunderstorms and heavy rain impacting Brisbane during the week, it could make it a heavy track and it is likely that the Broncos will be hoping that is the case in an effort to limit the impact of in-form Tom Trbojevic. His performances have been huge for Manly Sea Eagles since his return to action and he continues to post phenomenal numbers as he attempts to nail his place in the New South Wales side for State of Origin. However, regardless of the conditions, Manly should have too much for Brisbane here and they can record a fifth win in their last six games.
