  • Canterbury Bulldogs produced a competitive first half against Parramatta Eels but they could not sustain their efforts in the second half as they were on the end of a big defeat which will have been a real disappointment after such an impressive outing in their previous contest.
  • After beating St. George Illawarra Dragons, the Bulldogs looked set to build on that as they took a four-point lead into the break against the Eels but they went on to concede 30 unanswered points which saw them succumb to a 36-10 loss.

MANLY SEA EAGLES

  • Manly Sea Eagles overcame a poor first half showing as they blitzed Gold Coast Titans in the second half of their last contest to record a sensational victory and that is now five wins from six for the improving side.
  • The Sea Eagles trailed 24-8 at half-time but a half-time spray from head coach Des Hasler did the job as his side scored an incredible 48 unanswered points in the second half to turn the game on its head in impressive fashion.

THE PREDICTION

Manly Sea Eagles were sensational in the second half of their clash with Gold Coast Titans last time out and having produced arguably the best 40-minute performance of the season, they will be confident of further success here as they face bottom of the ladder Canterbury Bulldogs. The Sea Eagles still harbour aspirations of finishing in the top four thanks to winning five of their last six and with the Bulldogs managing just one victory in seven, they should collect another two points here. To make matters worse for the Dogs, they have lost a handful of players to COVID-19 protocols and with a makeshift side, they look like they will be on the end of a big loss of at least 24 points.
