  • Canterbury Bulldogs produced a woeful performance as they capitulated in alarming fashion against St. George Illawarra Dragons last week despite trailing just 6-0 at the break with the bottom of the ladder side ultimately going down 32-12.
  • The Bulldogs conceded 28 unanswered points before finally getting themselves on the scoreboard and Trent Barrett has reacted by making a big call in the halves with Kyle Flanagan dropping out of the side which sees Brandon Wakeham take his spot.

CANBERRA RAIDERS

  • Canberra Raiders lost for the fifth game in succession in what was an all too familiar feeling for them as they surrendered a comfortable lead by allowing Newcastle Knights to score 24 answered points in the second half of last week’s contest.
  • The Raiders went into the sheds 16-0 up but they fell apart in the second period and across those five defeats, they have now managed to score a paltry eight points in the second half of those games.

THE PREDICTION

Canberra Raiders have some real problems that they need to fix and the majority of them appear to occur in the second half of matches after throwing away a 16-point lead in last week’s game with Newcastle Knights. That is now five straight losses for the Raiders and their top eight hopes could suffer a serious setback if they fail to end their run against bottom side Canterbury Bulldogs. They come into this 1-8 after a terrible display against St. George Illawarra Dragons last week and despite trying to change their fortunes by making a change in the halves, the Bulldogs are likely to suffer yet another loss with the Raiders able to lead at half-time and see it out to claim a much-needed success.
