- Brisbane Broncos suffered yet another embarrassing loss as they failed to improve despite parting ways with head coach Anthony Seibold and they are now running out of matches to attempt to pull away from Canterbury Bulldogs at the bottom of the NRL ladder.
- Sydney Roosters ran in 10 tries in the in the one-sided 58-12 affair as the Broncos missed 39 tackles and they have now surpassed 500 points conceded so far this season with their average standing at 32.7 points allowed per game.
- The Broncos will be boosted by the return of Payne Haas and Issac Luke from suspension as well as Corey Oates from injury so the banned Joe Ofahengaue makes way along with Brodie Croft and Jordan Kahu.

- Penrith Panthers were made to work hard in the opening quarter of their game with Wests Tigers last week but the league leaders kept at it and eventually ran out comfortable winners to extend their winning streak to 11 matches.
- The Panthers fell behind in the opening 10 minutes and looked set for a frustrating evening but they built pressure well and started to take their chances before the break with them managing 30 unanswered points before the full-time hooter.
- With 56% of possession, Penrith once again made their opponents pay by showing greater control of the ball and they will look to do the same in this clash with Viliame Kikau back from a ban and Kurt Capewell returns from a long-term injury but Isaah Yeo is out with a head knock.
THE PREDICTION
The end of the season cannot come quickly enough for Brisbane Broncos as their woeful campaign continued with another heavy loss last time out. They shipped over 50 points against Sydney Roosters with some of their defensive efforts leaving a lot to be desired. They now face another hugely difficult contest as they take on the side at the top of the ladder in Penrith Panthers. With 11 wins in a row, Penrith look the real deal and having posted the second-highest number of points in the NRL so far this season, they should be able to win this one by at least 22 points against the side that has conceded more than any other.
