THE TEAM NEWS

ST. GEORGE-ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

Head Coach: Paul McGregor

Starting 13: Norman, Saab, Aitken, Lafai, Ravalawa, Widdop, Hunt, Graham, McInnes, Vaughan, Kaufusi, T. Sims, Frizell – Interchanges: Latimore, K. Sims, Ford, Leilua – Reserves: Sailor, Kerr

Unavailable: Jack de Belin, Lachlan Maranta, Blake Lawrie, Zac Lomax

  • St. George fell to yet another defeat as they were beaten by Parramatta last week which was the Dragons' fifth loss in a row but can end their losing streak as they end bottom of the ladder Gold Coast.

  • Zac Lomax was a late withdrawal with a hamstring injury last week and he is set to miss out again here with Mikaele Ravalawa slotting in on the wing whilst Jason Saab retains his place after impressing since making his debut.

  • Prop Blake Lawrie is also out this week which has resulted in a reshuffle in the pack with James Graham reverting to prop, Tyson Frizell shifting to lock and Patrick Kaufusi starting in the back row whilst Jackson Ford will debut from the bench.

GOLD COAST TITANS

Interim Coaches: Craig Hodges/Luke Burt

Starting 13: Brimson, Arthars, Watkins, Kelly, Sami, Taylor, Jacks, Wallace, Rein, Whitbread, Proctor, Stone, Arrow – Interchanges: Peachey, Fotuaika, Lee, Cartwright – Reserves: Spry, Latu

Unavailable: Ryan James, Keegan Hipgrave, Shannon Boyd, Michael Gordon, Tyrone Roberts, Nathan Peats

  • Gold Coast were hammered by Sydney Roosters as they suffered a sixth successive defeat to remain rooted to the foot of the ladder with newly announced head coach Justin Holbrook getting a huge idea of how much work he has to do ahead of taking over next season.

  • Jai Arrow should make his long-awaited return from an ankle injury after been named at lock but the Titans have several injury issues to contend with this week with Michael Gordon and Nathan Peats missing out.

  • Mitch Rein comes into the side to cover for Peats at hooker and AJ Brimson has been named at fullback as he bids to return following an injury but there is no place for Anthony Don who has been dropped with Jesse Arthars taking his place.

THE PREDICTION

Gold Coast were humiliated once again as they suffered a huge defeat against Sydney Roosters last week. They now head to face St. George who are also on a poor run of form but the home side will fancy their chances of ending their run against the rudderless Titans. Jai Arrow’s return should give the Titans a lift but they are likely to fall short again here which would see them lose a seventh consecutive match.
