  • Cronulla failed to build on their last two wins as they fell to defeat against Penrith despite a late comeback last week and now have some work to do to ensure they do not miss out on the play-offs.
  • The Sharks will be without Andrew Fifita after he suffered a knee injury with Billy Magoulias set to take his place on the bench whilst Cronulla have also received another boost in the back division.
  • Matt Moylan has managed to overcome the concussion symptoms he had been suffering from after copping a high shot against South Sydney, forcing him to sit out last week, and he returns here with Josh Dugan reverting to centre and Josh Morris shifting to the wing.

  • St. George ended their five-match losing streak as they ran in 40 points against bottom side Gold Coast in a much-improved display and will want to end the season on a high as they look to back that win up against Cronulla.
  • Tariq Sims is out for the year after undergoing groin surgery with his place in St. George's 17 taken by the returning Blake Lawrie who has recovered from the head knock he took in the previous week.
  • Rookie winger Jason Saab has been brilliant since his NRL introduction but he has been surprisingly dropped this week with Zac Lomax back in the side but the pressure will be on him to perform.

THE PREDICTION

St. George ended their losing streak with a good performance over Gold Coast last week but face a tall order to back that up against Cronulla. The Sharks' play-off hopes were dented by Penrith last week but back on home soil, they should be able to get back to winning ways. They will need to perform like they did in the final quarter of that game if they are to do that after a poor showing before, but with them needing the win to stay in the mix for the top 8 they can do just enough.
