Royal Challengers Bengaluru Preview: Smriti the star

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have set the pace early on in this season’s WPL, proving why they are worth champions and that they won’t be giving up their title without an almighty fight. An excellent showing with the ball saw them bowl out Delhi Capitals for 141, before captain Smriti Mandhana’s 81 from 47 balls broke the back of a straightforward run chase, RCB winning by eight wickets in the end.

Mumbai Indians Preview: On the board

After losing their first game vs Delhi Capitals in such a tough fashion, Mumbai Indians took out their frustrations on Gujarat Giants, picking up their first two points of the season with a five-wicket win. Bowling first, Mumbai skittled out Gujarat for just 120 and whilst it wasn’t easy going, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side completed the chase with just under four overs to spare.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Betting Analysis

RCB will be delighted at how a domestic bowler has set the tone for them across their back-to-back wins to start the competition in 2025. Renuka Singh Thakur backed up her 2/25 against Gujarat Giants with 3/23 vs Delhi Capitals, finishing as her teams’ top bowler on both occasions. Backing her to do so for a third time in a row here has to be favoured.

Mumbai Indians Betting Analysis

Following a brilliant 80 not out that went in vain for Mumbai Indians in their opening game, Natalie Sciver-Brunt wasn’t going to be denied twice. This time, she plundered 57 runs from Gujarat Giants, anchoring a run chase which was all but complete when the England star departed the scene. With a whopping 137 runs already after just two fixtures, it’s well worth backing Sciver-Brunt to accrue another score of 20+ this time around.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians Expert Prediction

There’s no doubt that Mumbai Indians played well in their most recent contest, but the reality is that they are walking very much into the lion’s den here. The crowd will be vociferous and firmly behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru, another boost for a team currently playing some fantastic cricket and cementing their status as the team to beat. With home advantage in their favour, expect RCB to make it three consecutive victories.
