Rob Cross can consider himself unlucky that he didn’t progress to the final in Brighton last week given his standard of play, and he looks the favourite here against struggling Chris Dobey.

Rob Cross vs Chris Dobey Prediction

Rob Cross played some phenomenal darts in Brighton last week, averaging 111.19 in his quarter-final win over table-topper Luke Humphries before firing in a 106.91 average against Nathan Aspinall. However, Voltage ended up losing that second game and he remains outside of the top four heading into Nottingham.

Cross himself was on the receiving end of a 112 average in his Belgian Darts Opener over the weekend, while he reached the last 16 of Players Championship 6 on Wednesday after a first-round exit the day before.

Chris Dobey badly needs the points now as he has lost at the first hurdle in five of the first six weeks of the Premier League. His doubles have let him down at key moments and he has lost last-leg deciders in the past two weeks, while he was also guilty of missing match darts in the second round of his Belgian Darts Open contest with Dirk van Duijvenbode on Saturday. He didn’t fare much better in the two Players Championship events either, exiting in the last 64 on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cross has been consistently producing high-quality darts lately and he looks capable of overcoming a handicap here.
