The Prediction

After opening the season with a stirring comeback against Carlton, Richmond have found the going tough in the past couple of weeks, losing heavily to Port Adelaide and then last week to St. Kilda. Facing the Lions despite it being at the cosy confines of the MCG will pose no easier test.

The Lions themselves showed that they are still premiership contenders with a narrow victory over geelong in Brisbane last week. Despite trailing at half-time, they found a way to win and remain perfect with a 3-0 record for the year.

This will be the first time the two sides have met in Melbourne since 2022. Brisbane have won all three of the most recent contests in Brisbane with Richmond winning the two prior to that.

Possession wise, Will Ashcroft, Hugh McCluggage and Dayne Zorko have been leading the way each week for the Lions with Lachie Neale gaining a quiet 20 possessions last week in a winning team. Richmond, meanwhile, will turn to experienced campaigners Jacob Hopper, Toby Nankervis and Kamdyn Macintosh to lead the team back towards respectability.

Richmond could be in for a tough day at the office, with the Lions inside and outside running proving too much to handle.

Tip: Brisbane Lions to win with -46.5 handicap
