Ricardo Ramos: Brazilian chasing back-to-back wins for first time since 2019
Ricardo Ramos (17-6-0) is coming off a much-needed victory over Joshua Culibao at UFC 305 in August and he will now look to make it back-to-back wins for the first time in the UFC since 2019. The Brazilian 29-year-old had lost his previous two bouts against Charles Jourdain and then Julian Erosa but that win halted the skid and just about keeps him relevant in the featherweight division. He now faces a tough test in Mariscal, but one that will get him back into some bigger fights if he can win.
Chepe Mariscal: Chepe looking for eighth win in succession
Chepe Mariscal (17-6-0 with one no contest) has taken his streak of wins into the Octagon as he has won his last seven bouts, including his four in the UFC. The American has great momentum right now and this will be a good test for him against an experienced foe who does represent a step in quality for him.
Ricardo Ramos vs Chepe Mariscal Prediction
This is an intriguing bout in the featherweight division as the experienced Ricardo Ramos takes on a surging Chepe Mariscal.
Mariscal has adapted to life in the UFC incredibly well and has won all four of his bouts. The matchmakers are testing him with each fight against gradually better opponents and it will be interesting to see if he can continue his rise.
Ramos is competitive but has gone through a similar route to Mariscal and ultimately been found wanting when he has faced decent calibre opponents. He showed last time out that he still has the hunger to compete but Mariscal will really test that here.
We like the energy and desire that Mariscal brings and he really does have the momentum firmly behind him. He may not get the stoppage but we think he does enough to get the win at least on the scorecards as a minimum.
Prediction: Chepe Mariscal to win
