Ricardo Pietreczko vs Nathan Aspinall Prediction

One of the most improved players on the circuit over the last couple of years, Ricardo Pietreczko has made it through to the fourth round on only his second attempt at Ally Pally, most recently putting in a fine display to defeat the dangerous Scott Williams 4-1 on Saturday.

‘Pikachu’ has been superb on the outer ring in all three of his victories, successfully landing over 50% of his double attempts on each occasion, and that will give him huge confidence ahead of this clash with the 12th seed.

Nathan Aspinall made light work of potential banana skin Andrew Gilding in the third round, winning 4-0 in a contest where he was never truly pushed by ‘Goldfinger’.

This is the first time since 2020 that ‘The Asp’ has progressed to the round of 16, but he know he will likely need to raise his game further against an opponent who has been playing some of the best darts of his career this year.

A two-time semi-finalist at Alexandra Palace, Aspinall’s experience will be key here and he will likely have the lion’s share of the support. Pietreczko will not lie down though and is capable of causing a minor upset should he continue his ruthless finishing. Whichever way it goes, expect a close contest that could go the distance 5.5 sets.

Ricardo Pietreczko vs Nathan Aspinall Tip: Over 5.5 sets
