RENNES PREVIEW: RENNES IN RUINS
Julian Stephan returned to coach Stade Rennais during the 2023 November international break and a defeat this weekend may well see his second spell in charge of the club end during the 2024 November international break.
Rennes come into this one on the back of a 4-0 hammering of newly-promoted Auxerre in their most recent outing, last weekend. The Pinot-backed relatively big spenders have won just three of their opening ten matches.
TOULOUSE PREVIEW: TOULOUSE NEED TO WIN
Toulouse, still coached by Spaniard Carlos Martinez Novell, begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting a point above Rennes in the Ligue 1 table with mid-table aspirations finally being met with a recent mini upturn in form.
The visitors come into this one on the back of much-needed back-to-back victories. They hammered Montpellier Herault by three goals to nil a couple of weeks ago before then edging past Stade de Reims at Stadium de Toulouse last weekend.
RENNES TEAM NEWS: FULLY FIT
Julian Stephan does have the blessing of having a fully fit and available squad for this weekend’s clash with Toulouse with no injury concerns or suspension issues.
PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Mandanda; Hateboer, Ostigard, Wooh, Truffert; Matusiwa; Andres Gomez, Blas, Kamara, Jota; Kalimuendo

RENNES VS TOULOUSE PREDICTION
Rennes have an abundance of attacking talent and Stephan is supposedly, at least on paper, an attacking coach. They played with effectively four attackers last week and if this is to be do or die for Stephan then he may well go out in a blaze of glory. Toulouse are a little more cautious but still possession-dominant so the possibility for space will help them and an entertaining game for the neutral would appear a likely outcome for this one on Sunday.
