Stade de Reims remain firmly in the relegation battle down at the bottom end of the Ligue 1 table as they now take on an entertaining but middle-of-the-table Toulouse side this weekend.

Reims Preview: Reims need a run

Following the departure of Will Still to Lens and the appointment of Slovenian coach Luka Elsner, Stade de Reims started the season well but their form majorly collapsed and now Samba Diawara has been charged with leading them away from the bottom three.

Their form has improved since the March international break, though, with a 3-0 defeat of Olympique de Marseille now being backed up by a comfortable and impressive 2-0 win away at Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis last weekend.

Toulouse Preview: Inconsistent Toulouse

Spanish coach Carlos Martinez Novell has implemented an impressive and entertaining style of football at the Stadium de Toulouse this season but they have hit some poor form of late as they slide down into the bottom-half of the Ligue 1 table ahead of this match day.

The visitors suffered their fourth successive loss in the French top-flight last weekend due to a 2-1 defeat at home to Lille in a game in which they went behind to a Matias Fernandez-Pardo goal before Charlie Cresswell equalised and then Mitchel Bakker snatched the win for Lille.

Reims Team News: Long-term absentees

The home team have a few injury issues for this one and they still have some key long-term absentees, too, such as former Brighton and Hove Albion attacking midfielder Reda Khadra and former Ajax forward Mohamed Daramy.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Diouf; Sekine, Gbane, Jeng; Buta, Atangana, Kone, Sergio Akieme; Ito, Pefok, Nakamura

Unavailable: Khadra (Injured), Daramy (Injured)

Questionable: Okumu (Injured), Fofana (Injured), Diakhon (Injured)

Toulouse Team News: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for Toulouse to deal with this weekend ahead of the trip to Reims with Zakaria Aboukhlal remaining a doubt, whilst Rasmus Nicolaisen and Niklas Schmidt are both sidelined.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Restes; Sidibe, Cresswell, McKenzie; Messali, Cristian Casseres Jr, Sierro, Suazo; Donnum, Gboho; Magri

Unavailable: Nicolaisen (Injured), Schmidt (Injured)

Questionable: Aboukhlal (injured)

Reims vs Toulouse Prediction

Stade de Reims remain just outside of the bottom three but they have pushed themselves a couple of points clear with a well timed and much-needed run of form as they seek to secure safety before playing in the Coupe de France final against Paris Saint-Germain next month. They now face a Toulouse side that have been entertaining this season but appear to very much on the beach and Reims, especially with their home advantage, would appear the team to be sided with for this one.

Reims vs Toulouse Tip: Double chance – Reims to win or draw
