Reilly Opelka will be pretty pleased with his performances in 2025 so far and he will be hoping to do well in Delray Beach this week. He got his campaign off to a positive start as he beat Christopher Eubanks in the first round winning 6-3 7-6. As usual, Opelka’s big serve was firing nicely and he did enough in the return game to get the win.

He faces another American in Brandon Nakashima and the talented 23-year-old picked up a much-needed win over James Trotter on Tuesday. Nakashima was always comfortable in that match as he won 7-6 6-1 but he will be bracing himself for a different type of challenge here.

The momentum is with Opelka coming into this one and he has started 2025 much better than Nakashima. It is somewhat surprising to see Nakashima come into this as the marginal favourite and we are opposing him here. Nakashima found life tough hanging on to Ben Shelton in the Australian Open – a big server like Opelka. We favour the big serve to make the difference and Opelka to get the win.
