Reilly Opelka vs Alexander Shevchenko Prediction

Reilly Opelka will come into the Dallas Open with plenty of confidence based on his performances so far in 2025. He reached the final in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago before retiring in the final with an injury concern but the run to the final saw him beat Novak Djokovic en route. He also overcame the impressive Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and represented quite the start to the new year.

He stumbled in a five-set thriller at the hands of Tomas Machac but there is no shame in that loss and now he returns to action in Dallas expecting to put a run together this week.

He meets Alexander Shevchenko who will be hoping he can cause an upset here but the Kazakh will have to get to grips with Opelka’s monster serve to have any chance of winning this one.

That appears unlikely on the face of it and we have to lean with Opelka here to get off to a winning start ahead of what could be a good week for him.
