Real Valladolid Preview: Needing a reaction

Owned by Ronaldo, Real Valladolid took the decision to stick by Uruguayan coach Paulo Pezzolano over the summer, despite criticism in their promotion-winning season of last year but he has since been sacked with Valladolid rock-bottom in La Liga.

He has been replaced by former Mexico coach Diego Cocca and things haven’t turned around with Pucelanos coming into this one on the back of a 3-2 defeat to lower league Ourense in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey last weekend.

Real Betis Preview: Betis potentially sliding

Former West Ham United coach Manuel Pellegrini is in charge of a Real Betis side that are treading water in the middle-of-the-table in La Liga with financial constraints limiting their progress, underlined by the sale of Assane Diao to Como this week.

The Andalusians did manage to defeat Huesca by a goal to nil in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey last weekend and that does mean Betis head into this one on the back of a seven-match unbeaten run of form across all competitions.

Real Valladolid Team News: Juanmi Latasa suspension

Estonia international goalkeeper Karl Hein is unavailable for this weekend’s visit of Betis. As well as the absence of Hein, key striker Juanmi Latasa is also sidelined for this weekend due to suspension.

Predicted XI (5-3-2): Ferreira; Rosa, Juma Bah, Jorge Sanchez, Cumart, David Torres; Amallah, Juric, Mario Martin; Marcos Andre, Anuar

Unavailable: Hein (Injured), Sylla (Injured), Juanmi Latasa (Suspended)

Questionable: Ivan Sanchez (Injured)

Real Betis Team News: A few issues

Portugal international defensive midfielder William Carvalho remains unavailable for Betis due to an Achilles injury. They also have some key injury doubts for this one, too, such as Rui Silva, Hector Bellerin and Marc Roca.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vieites; Sabaly, Marc Bartra, Diego Llorente, Perraud; Johnny Cardoso, Sergio Altimira; Lo Celso, Isco, Abde Ez; Vitor Roque

Unavailable: Carvalho (Injured)

Questionable: Silva (Injured), Hector Bellerin (Injured), Marc Roca (Injured)

Real Valladolid vs Real Betis Prediction

Real Valladolid have a weak squad that is perhaps not built or ready for La Liga yet. The home team have struggled badly throughout the campaign and off-field issues involving the potential departure of Ronaldo has not helped the club. They face a Real Betis side that are well positioned to push back towards the top seven and the European spots with an away win the likeliest outcome for this one against a poor side.
