Real Valladolid Preview: Everything is a mess
With owner and president Ronaldo apparently wanting to sell but not engaging with offers, Real Valladolid are in a bit of a mess off the pitch with their on-pitch performances getting even worse under former Mexico boss Diego Cocca, who replaced Paulo Pezzolano in December.
The hosts come into this one on the back of a 7-1 demolition at the hands of Athletic Club at San Mames in their most recent outing at the Basque Country last weekend to mean they have now conceded 59 goals 20 in their last five matches.
Las Palmas Preview: Need a performance
Following the appointment of Diego Martinez in October, then winless Las Palmas immediately improved as they began to propel themselves up the table but the Canary Islanders have since drifted once again firmly back into trouble, just outside of the danger zone on goal difference.
The visitors most recently suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Barcelona in which, admittedly, their performance was slightly improved. However, that defeat means they are winless in their last eight matches across all competitions with seven of those games being losses.
Real Valladolid Team News: Juric suspended
Former Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo, who joined in the winter transfer window, is now an injury doubt for Valladolid, whilst defensive midfielder Stanko Juric is unavailable having picked up another suspension due to a red card last weekend.
Predicted XI (5-4-1): Hein; Lucas Perez, Jorge Sanchez, Cumart, David Torres, Candela; Sylla, Mario Martin, Grillitsch, Chuki; Marcos Andre
Unavailable: Juric (Suspended)
Questionable: Aidoo (Injured)
Las Palmas Team News: Still no Kirian
Kirian Rodriguez was one of the key men in Las Palmas’ improved run of form in the autumn but he remains unavailable due to illness. Alex Suarez is also now unavailable for the visitors as he is missing through suspension.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Cillessen; Viti, Herzog, Mika Marmol, Alex Munoz; Essugo, Stefan Bajcetic; Sandro, Javier Munioz, Alberto Moleiro; McBurnie
Unavailable: Alex Suarez (Suspended), Pelmard (Injured), Kirian Rodriguez (Illness), Januzaj (Injured)
Questionable: Park (Injured), Silva (Injured)
Real Valladolid vs Las Palmas Prediction
Real Valladolid are in disarray at the moment and there is a feeling that this is going to be a long couple of months for them to get through to the end of the season. They do, though, almost remarkably, sit just eight points adrift of safety despite how bad they have been. They face a Las Palmas side that have endured a miserable 2025 and will not be overly confident here so it may not be a convincing win but, simply, they have to get themselves three points in Castile y Leon.
Real Valladolid vs Las Palmas Tip: Las Palmas to win & under 3.5 goals
