Real Sociedad vs Midtjylland Prediction
Imanol Aguacil is a little under pressure in charge of Real Sociedad and the Basque coach has been criticised by members of his own La Real squad. They do, though, look in a good position to head into the Round of 16 after a 2-1 win last week.
In that game, Brais Mendez and Takefusa Kubo gave La Real a 2-0 lead before Adam Buksa pulled one back before half-time. However, that was backed up by a 3-0 defeat to Real Betis in La Liga as they slip into the bottom-half of the table domestically, having scored just 20 goals in their 24 matches in the league.
Midtjylland returned to Danish Superliga action after their long winter break by edging past Lyngby by a goal to nil at the MCH Arena at the weekend thanks to a 38th minute winning penalty scored by the aforementioned Poland international Buksa. They sit second in the league, behind Copenhagen on goal difference.
Real Sociedad have struggled to score consistently for a while now and Midtjylland’s eight UEFA Europa League league phase matches consisted of just 18 goals so a low-scoring game is likely.
Real Sociedad vs Midtjylland Tip: Under 3.5 goals
